Our staff are not just employees. They are friends, long-time companions and loyal in every way!

Employees in portrait

Despite all the modesty, the Neubergerhof is so much more than just a family hotel in the middle of unspoilt nature. It is a pleasant home that boasts real warm-heartedness for its guests and also for its staff. In this way, the distinct sense of family takes on a completely new dimension.

Around 35 staff are employed in the summer season (Pentecost to the beginning of November) and in the winter season (mid-December to Easter). Every member of our team has their own unique qualities which we greatly appreciate.

But our staff are not just childminders, receptionists, cooks or waiters. They are above all good souls, enjoy a bit of fun and are hard-working team players. Thank you for your commitment. None of this would be possible without you!

And now curtain up on our secret stars!

Welcome in the family

Hannes Krisa

Our Hannes has been with us since 2015. He started as an apprentice in service and restaurant. In 2018 he completed his apprenticeship as a restaurant specialist, and we are very happy that we have such a committed and really motivated Chef de Rang in the team. His main tasks as Chef de Rang are preparing his work area, doing the breakfast service, doing the dinner service with wine presentations and the bar service in the evening.

Hannes was born and raised in near Vienna. Due to his open-mindedness and courage, he made the decision to complete his apprenticeship in SalzburgerLand. He loves traveling with his family in the off-season and has been to  the Caribbean and Egypt. He also doesn’t miss a ship cruise. Even there he always keeps an eye on the waiters, so that he can learn a lot himself or even attend a cocktail course. Hannes is also a passionate firefighter. He is always ready to help and always available.

We took our Hannes to our hearts from the first day. It is important for us that he is happy here at the Neubergerhof, as it could be difficult when one’s family lives 3 hours away. Hannes has found his second home here on our farm and is indispensable. We are happy that you're here!

Plant enchanter & feel-good manager

Andrea Rettenwender

What Andrea Rettenwender, Maria Reiter’s sister, has been doing at the Neubergerhof for 32 years, cannot easily be pigeonholed. Early in the morning she puts the fried eggs in the pan, during the day she passionately cares for the flowers and in the evening, she ensures the service is quick and accurate.

And even when there is always a lot to do at the Neubergerhof, there’s one thing she never misses – chatting with the guests in between. For this, she always find time! The fact that Andrea is present in the hotel at almost any time must be due to the fact that she sees her work in the family circle as a great joy and privilege.

Music-making kitchen fairy

Elisabeth "Lisi" Rettenwender

Lisi has been part of the Neubergerhof team since July 2012. Naturally, she also completed her apprenticeship right here at the hotel. Since then, Martin and Maria Reiter’s niece has been pursuing her passion in the kitchen, where she can usually be found among simmering pots and busy preparations. There is always plenty to do, making her workday both dynamic and varied. All the more reason to appreciate the strong family bond that defines the Neubergerhof, where everyone supports one another and is always there when needed.

Life at the Neubergerhof suits Lisi perfectly in other ways, too. She usually has Fridays off, as that’s when she likes to follow the sounds of traditional music and enjoy time with friends and family. These days, she spends her free time above all with her son and her loved ones. Sharing special moments with them gives her energy and provides the perfect balance to her busy days in the kitchen.

Elisa Menneweger
Horse Girl & Mood Booster

Elisa Menneweger

Her path led the charming young Styrian straight from school to our children's club, where working with the little guests brought her so much joy that she soon decided to pursue training as a kindergarten teacher. But don’t worry – true friends are never far apart for long. That’s why Elisa continued to visit us at the Neubergerhof throughout her training.

And now, as of June 2025, she can officially call herself a "Kindergarten Teacher."

What delights us most, however, is that Elisa is back on board! With her creative and empathetic nature, along with her fresh educational knowledge, she is not only the perfect addition to the WASTL team but also a true asset to all of us. The children especially love her cheerful and playful manner, which has ensured from day one that the children's club remains a place full of joy and laughter.

Welcome home, dear Elisa!

Welcoming Guests with Heart

Pia Csikvary

Pia took over the position of Front Office Manager at the Neubergerhof in December 2025, succeeding Anna, who started her maternity leave.

Originally from Lower Austria, Pia moved to the Salzburg region in 2020 to pursue her passion for hospitality and mountain living. After spending five years in Wagrain, she joined the team at the newly reopened Neubergerhof. The decision came naturally to her, as she immediately felt the unique team spirit and the appreciative company culture from the very first meeting.

Pia completed her training as a Hotel and Hospitality Assistant through the Diploma Academy, laying the foundation for her career in the hospitality industry. With great passion, a warm personality, and an attentive ear for guests, she ensures that everyone feels welcome from the moment they arrive. Her sense of humor and infectious laughter also make her a valued and much-loved member of the team.

In her free time, Pia finds the perfect balance to hotel life in the mountains. Whether hiking, exploring via ferratas, or enjoying activities with friends, she embraces every opportunity to recharge and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.

Peggy & Roman in the mountains
From Loyal Guests to Valued Team Members

Peggy & Roman Krahl

For Roman and Peggy, the Neubergerhof in Filzmoos is no unfamiliar place: for more than 30 years, they were loyal guests before it eventually became their new home.

When their daughter moved to Filzmoos and built a new life there, they decided to follow her to the Salzburg region. They wanted to be closer to their family while also fulfilling their dream of living in the mountains.

To make this dream a reality, they left their home in the beautiful Upper Lusatian Highlands and embraced a fresh start. Today, both have found their place at the Neubergerhof: Peggy leads the housekeeping team as Executive Housekeeper with great dedication, while Roman, as caretaker, looks after the hotel, the grounds, and the animals.

In their free time, they especially enjoy spending time with their family, their granddaughter Rosalie, friends, their garden, and, of course, the mountains – the place where they have always felt most at home.

From the Neighbourhood Child to a Hostess

Katharina Gappmaier

After completing her three-year education at the Agricultural School, Katharina joined the Neubergerhof. Since August 2024, she has been supporting our team while completing her apprenticeship as a Hotel and Restaurant Specialist.

Katharina first discovered her passion for the hospitality industry during a school internship at the Neubergerhof. It quickly became clear to her that this was the career path she wanted to pursue.

Katharina shares a very special connection with our hotel. Having grown up right next door and spent a large part of her childhood at the Neubergerhof, she has known our establishment for many years and has always felt at home here. This makes us even happier to now have her as part of our team.

What Katharina particularly enjoys is the daily interaction with our guests and the close collaboration with her colleagues. With her warm personality, helpful nature, and genuine enjoyment of working with people, she enriches our daily work and helps create a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and team members alike.

We are delighted to accompany Katharina on her professional journey and wish her continued success, enjoyment, and many wonderful experiences at the Neubergerhof.

Lena Steiner in the Mountains
Her Heart Belongs to Home, Hospitality Runs in Her Blood

Lena Steiner

Lena has been completing her apprenticeship as a Gastronomy Specialist since 2024. Her passion for the hospitality and culinary industry was practically instilled in her from birth through her parents and has been a part of her life since childhood.

With her warm personality and genuine enjoyment of working with people, Lena is a valuable support both in the restaurant and in the kitchen. She particularly appreciates the variety the industry offers and takes every opportunity to learn new skills and continue developing professionally. During her school and apprenticeship years, she successfully completed certifications as a Cheese Sommelier, Junior Sommelier, and Junior Beer Sommelier.

Outside of work, Lena has a strong connection to her hometown of Filzmoos. Whether spending time in the mountains, meeting friends, or taking part in local community activities, she values tradition and togetherness. As a marketenderin (traditional ceremonial representative) with the Filzmoos Wedding and Goaslschnalzer Association and as a leader of the Filzmoos Rural Youth Association, she is deeply committed to preserving local customs and strengthening community spirit.

We are delighted to support Lena on her professional journey and greatly appreciate her positive attitude, ambition, and enthusiasm for the hospitality industry.

Chantal Ronacher in her traditional club attire
From Carinthia to the heart of hospitality

Chantal Ronacher

Chantal comes from Carinthia and has a special personal connection to Filzmoos, where she used to spend holidays with her grandmother as a child, discovering her love for the mountain world and its warm, welcoming atmosphere.

After completing her apprenticeship with the Matura, she entered the hospitality industry, where she especially enjoys working at the reception, as it allows her to bring in her open and communicative nature. In winter 2024, she joined the Neubergerhof for the first time, quickly felt at home, initially worked in the kids’ club, and later found her place at the reception. After a break, she returned and now supports the team with great dedication and heart, ensuring that guests feel welcome from the very first moment.

In her free time, she enjoys being in the mountains around Filzmoos or in her home region of Carinthia, loves travelling to Scandinavia – especially Norway – and spends a lot of time with her dog Luna. She is also actively involved in the Carinthian rural youth organization as a board member and dance leader, has played the French horn for many years, and recently discovered the Styrian accordion. Music, nature, travel, and tradition shape her life and make her a versatile, active, and cheerful personality who is always where something is happening or help is needed.

Person of life & charming order freak

Anna Grünwald

Since 2016, Anna has been taking care of our guests' needs and personal wishes with great dedication and attention to detail. She spent her first seasons at the Neubergerhof working as a childcare specialist in the WASTL Kids’ Club before moving to the front desk – where she now leads our reservations department with a keen sense of organization and calm efficiency.

With her warm personality, friendly demeanor, and lovely smile, Anna always manages to anticipate and fulfill the wishes of our guests. She’s also the creative mind behind our social media channels, making sure our followers stay inspired with beautiful moments and stories from the Neubergerhof.

She also brings fresh ideas to our online blog #neuesvomberg, where she regularly shares tips and stories about the most beautiful spots, exciting events, and must-see excursions in and around our region.

Anna has a charming quirk: as a self-confessed neat freak, every pen and notepad must be in its designated place.

*Our dear Anna is currently on maternity leave.
