MTB & E-Bike

Anyone who thinks that Filzmoos is only suitable for hiking is mistaken. You can also take wonderful tours by bike. And with an E-bike, even longer distances or more demanding tours can be mastered.

But cycling in the mountains doesn't have to be exhausting. With high-quality E-bikes, you can easily ride up and enjoy the Filzmoos Alpine pastures. Competent tour advice and the free hiking bus from the front door (bike carry also possible) round off the biking offers.

Our route tip:

From the Hotel Neubergerhof you start and ride to the Arzbergalm (journey time approx. 30 minutes). Continue along the sunny forest road to the Sulzkaralm at 1,543 metres above sea level. An Alpine snack with home-made cheese and bacon here is a pure treat!

Bike tour to the Mandlberggut
Rent an e-bike at the Hotel and drive to Filzmoos in the direction of the reservoir and up to the Mandlberggut. There is a restaurant which is really family. They made a lot of products by their own.

Mountain Bike tours

Mountain bikers can choose between blue, red or black continuously signposted mountain bike routes around the Dachstein. The varied routes also run partly through the neighbouring states of Upper Austria and Styria.

The Dachstein circuit

This is the most popular mountain bike tour in Austria. The tour around the Dachstein massif is perfectly signposted and at various levels of difficulty - from 4,900 m altitude on forest trails to 7,800 m altitude on single trails.

These highlights await you on the Dachstein circuit:
Bad Goisern - starting point of the annual Salzkammergut Trophy, the picturesque Ausseerland, the Viehbergalm with its breathtaking stoves, the Grimming in the Styrian Enns Valley, the Hallstätter Lake as well as the villages of Ramsau am Dachstein, Filzmoos, Gosau and Hallstatt.

The mountain bike map for the Dachstein circuit is available from the Tourist Board office for € 2.90.

Where are the best doughnuts in the world?

My favorite mountainbike trail is from the Hotel to the Aualm - Kirchgasshütte. I am always looking forward to the delicious farmer's doughnuts from the alpin dairyman Justi.

Between Dachstein & Bischofsmütze

E-Bike Tours

The surroundings of the mountain village of Filzmoos, between the Dachstein and Bischofsmütze mountains, are ideal for electric bicycles with long range and mountain suitability.

With the electrically driven motor of the E-bikes, many altitude metres are easier to handle. For thirsty and hungry cyclists, there are numerous refreshment stops available along the bike routes. There are also sufficient charging stations for the electric motor.
